06/14/07: Getting So Much Better All the Time
As government officials, engineers and citizens ponder the future of the proposed Sand Creek Byway Project, some exciting plans are on the horizon. For one, the shores of Lake Pend Oreille near Seasons will enjoy delightful enhancements. Included in the plans is a shoreline extension near City Beach, with additional parking, green space and an observation/fishing pier. BVG Incorporated has pledged $100,000 toward the construction of a picturesque lighthouse-style structure at the end of this jetty. The plan also promises enhancements to the Sand Creek Bridge, which Seasons' owners and visitors tread regularly on their way downtown.
Plans for improvements to Sandpoint's AMTRAK station - the historic Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Depot that sits adjacent to Seasons - seem to be chugging along as well. The city has made suggestions that it might purchase the site, then lease the property back to BNSF, with plans to refurbish the old building. Seasons is working to move the process along, as this treasured neighbor deserves the best of care!
